Earlier today, during the keynote speech at Facebook's F8 conference, Mark Zuckerberg announced a new idea. Instead of simply posting pictures, videos, links, and updates, why not tell a story, your life story.
That is the plan behind Facebook's Timeline profile. Over the next few weeks, Facebook will start rolling out to users the ability to share their most memorable moments in a way that better describes who you are.
Imagine cataloging your life in pictures, quotes, and video. What would that look like? What if you sprinkled in sounds from your favorite song or snippets from your favorite movie? Would it help to capture the essence of you?
With an easy to navigate timeline, friends, family, and even acquaintances can scroll through the years of your life. For a more immediate review, simply click on the year and go from there.
From what I saw on screen, it looks good. It may take a lot of work to customize the timeline to my tastes, but it definitely has potential.
