Invite Facebook Friends To Watch Your Mobile Broadcast Using Color

You remember that neat mobile application called "Color," right? No? Well, it was a highly touted application that was supposed to change the way we share pictures. In a nutshell, you take a picture on your mobile device and it was supposed to show you pictures from people close to you.

Imagine attending a conference or dinner party and seeing a bunch of pictures from various viewpoints. Conceptually, it sounds great. Unfortunately, it never really took off.

I recall trying to get friends on board, but it was too complicated and it didn't work well. I remember seeing pictures from people in Las Vegas. But wait, I'm in North Carolina.

Eventually, I simply uninstalled Color.

Today, the New York Times reports that Color is partnering with Facebook and plans to offer users a unique way to connect live.

According to the article, Color will work on the iPhone and Android devices using either 3G or Wi-Fi. Also, it's a broadcast tool intended for large audiences. If you're looking for a one-on-one video stream, Skype or FaceTime may be for you.
