On the
Twitter blog, developers announced the long awaited release of its automatic URL shortener. To use, simply copy and paste the URL you would like to share and click the "Shorten" button (as seen above). According to Twitter, the service will shorten any link down to 19 characters.
Personally, I am extremely happy to learn this is available. Now, if they can only make it easier to mention my friends in a tweet. You know, something similar to what Facebook is now doing.
