Movember Team RDU Finishes Strong With Over $21,000 Raised

On Tuesday, November 30, 2010, Team RDU celebrated the conclusion of Movember with its highly anticipated gala. The event brought an estimated 75+ people to the Crabtree Tavern in Raleigh, North Carolina, where members came dressed in costume to match their newly grown moustache.  

During a brief presentation, Gregory Ng, Team RDU's Captain, announced the grand total raised during the month of Movember to be over $21,000. When compared to the other 30 teams participating in the Digital Challenge, Team RDU came in 4th place, but helped raise a whopping $278,000 world wide. This is a huge improvement over the numbers reported in 2009, where the Digital Challenge only raised $30,000.

Team RDU did such an outstanding job that the Co-Founder and CEO of Movember, Adam Garone, announced an official RDU Gala Parte' in 2011.  

The high point of the evening was the crowning of Miss and Man of Movember. The individuals were recognized for their outstanding costumes and overall effort for the month.

• Miss Movember: Gwynne Murphy raised $180 and rocked a wicked MO
• Man of Movember: Gregory Ng raised $2,745 and appeared as Lando Calrissian with a side of Colt 45 (priceless)
